Privacy
This notice explains what FindAProduct processes when you browse, click a retailer link, or email us.
Who is responsible
The site is operated by Venkata Siva Ramakrishna Naidu, a sole trader, as FindAProduct. The business is based in the United Kingdom. We do not publish a street address. For privacy requests, email venkata.naidu2427@gmail.com or hello@findaproduct.co.uk, or use the contact page.
What we process
- Pages you request, which pass through Cloudflare (IP address, user agent, and the URL).
- A country preference if you choose one, stored so the catalogue can show that currency.
- Account details if you register: email address and a password hash. Publisher accounts also store the business name you submit and the product files you upload.
- Reviews you choose to leave on a product page.
- The fact that you clicked Visit retailer, so the hop at /go/{offerId} can send you to the shop and the affiliate network can attribute a later purchase.
- Email you send us, kept long enough to reply and to handle a complaint.
You can browse without an account. We do not ask for a payment card to compare prices. Retailer orders are paid on the retailer’s site.
Why we process it
- Legitimate interests: running the comparison site, keeping it secure, and counting affiliate clicks.
- Contract: providing a publisher or shopper account you asked for.
- Consent: non-essential advertising cookies, which Google’s consent message collects for visitors in the UK and EEA when that message is enabled.
- Legal obligation: if we must keep a record to respond to a lawful request.
Advertising cookies
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies at www.aboutads.info and www.youronlinechoices.eu.
How Google uses information from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Ads are not placed on empty, error, legal, or account pages. See the cookie list.
Who else sees data
Processors include Cloudflare (hosting and security), the catalogue host on Oracle Cloud, and, when you click a retailer link, the affiliate network (Awin, CJ, or Rakuten) and the retailer. Stripe is not used for shopper purchases on this site. We do not sell personal information.
Some of those providers store data outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on the provider’s UK transfer arrangements, such as the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses, as they describe in their own terms.
How long we keep it
Server logs are kept for the period Cloudflare and the host retain them, which is a short operational window rather than a permanent profile. Account data stays until you close the account or ask us to delete it, unless we need a record of a publisher dispute. Email is kept while the conversation is open and for a short time afterwards. Affiliate networks keep their own click records under their policies.
Your rights
If UK GDPR applies to you, you can ask for a copy of your personal data, a correction, deletion, a restriction, or an objection to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting processing that already happened. Email venkata.naidu2427@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
