How to compare a yoga mat

How we choose products: rows come from in-stock affiliate feeds that have a name, a price, and a photo when the shop sent one. We do not test the products, and a higher commission does not move a shop up the list.
A yoga mat is a length, a width, and a thickness. Alignment lines and a carry strap are extras only when the title includes them.
Length and thickness
Search yoga mat. The catalogue may not have a department for it. The product is the size. A standard mat is often about 173 to 180 centimetres long and about 60 centimetres wide, but those figures have to be in the title or on the shop page. A travel mat is shorter. A cheaper short mat is the wrong mat if you are tall. Write down the length you need before you sort.
Thickness is millimetres. A 4 millimetre mat and a 6 millimetre mat feel different under knees. They are different products. We do not lie on them. Match the millimetres. A mat sold without a thickness is incomplete.
Material and smell
PVC, rubber, and TPE are different materials. A shop may warn about a new-mat smell. That note is theirs. We do not claim one material is safer. If you already know you need a particular material, the title has to say it. Colour is optional. Size is not.
What is not the mat
A block, a strap, a towel, and a bag are separate products unless the title says the set includes them. A kit price is not the price of the mat alone. A mat bag in the photo may be a prop. Read the contents.
Alignment lines are printed on some mats. If you want them, they should be mentioned. A plain mat at a lower price is a different product, and it may be the one you want. Decide on purpose.
Grip is a claim
Non-slip is a word on the listing, not a test we have run. Wet hands and a dusty floor change grip. If two mats claim it and one states a material you prefer, match the material and the size, not the adjective. Returns if the mat slips are the shop’s policy. Read it.
The feed price excludes postage. A rolled mat is an awkward parcel. Check delivery. One shop is one offer. Visit retailer is the affiliate hop. You pay the shop.
Care
How you clean it should be on the shop page if you care. We will not invent a washing instruction. A mat that cannot be wiped is a poor buy for a class, and only the description can tell you that.
When to leave
Leave a mat with no length and no thickness. Leave a block when you searched for a mat. Leave a title you cannot read. If the search is empty, the catalogue does not have a mat worth showing today. That is a result. Do not buy a camping roll and rename it.
Measure your height against the length you wrote down. Then compare shops on that size. Stop if none match.
Write the size down first
Search yoga mat. There may be no department. A typical class mat is often listed around 173 to 180 centimetres long and about 60 centimetres wide, but those figures have to be on the listing or the shop page before you trust them. A travel mat is shorter. A cheaper short mat is the wrong mat if you are tall. Thickness is millimetres. Four and six are different mats under the knee. We do not lie on them.
Width matters if your shoulders or your elbows miss a narrow mat. If you need wider than the number in the title, that row is finished. A mat with no length and no thickness is incomplete. Open the shop or leave it.
Alignment lines are printed on some mats. If you want them, they should be mentioned. A plain mat at a lower price is a different product, and it may be the one you want. Decide before you sort.
Material, smell, and what a kit adds
PVC, rubber, and TPE are different materials at different prices. A shop may warn that a new mat smells. That note is theirs. We do not claim one material is safer. If you already know you need a particular material, the title has to say it. Colour is optional. Size is not.
A block, a strap, a towel, and a bag are separate products unless the title says the set includes them. A kit price is not the price of the mat alone. A bag in the photo may be a prop. Read the contents. Buying a kit to get a mat is a different decision from buying the mat.
Non-slip is a word on the listing, not a test we have run. Wet hands and a dusty floor change grip. If two mats claim it, match the material and the size, not the adjective. How you clean the mat should be on the shop page if you care. We will not invent a washing instruction.
The parcel and the shop
A rolled mat is an awkward parcel. The feed price excludes postage. Read delivery on the shop you would use. Returns if the mat is the wrong length, or if it slips, are that shop’s policy. Read them before you pay if you are guessing the size.
One shop is one offer. Visit retailer is the affiliate hop. You pay the shop. If the search is empty, the catalogue does not have a mat worth showing today. That is a result. Do not buy a camping roll and rename it. Measure your height against the length you wrote down, then stop if none of the rows match. A thicker mat is not automatically the better one for the class you take. If the title gives centimetres and the shop page gives different centimetres, believe the shop before you pay, and do not average the two figures. A mat sold only as a travel size is a different product from the one you take to a class.
