How to compare a watch

How we choose products: rows come from in-stock affiliate feeds that have a name, a price, and a photo when the shop sent one. We do not test the products, and a higher commission does not move a shop up the list.
A smart-watch price is the series, the case size, and whether the row says demo. A GPS-only model is not the cellular model.
Smart watches
Match the series and the case size in millimetres. A 42 millimetre case and a 46 millimetre case are different watches. A cheaper smaller case is not a discount on the larger one. Strap colour and case material are part of the product.
Read the word demo. A demo unit can be the same series and still a different offer, with a different condition. Do not treat a lower demo price as the retail watch. GPS only and GPS plus cellular are different models. Match the one you will or will not pay a network for.
Battery life is the maker’s figure. We do not wear the watches. A charger may be in the box. A spare strap usually is not. Confirm a UK retail unit on the shop page if the title is ambiguous.
Wristwatches that are not a computer
The watches list is often short and can include a named fashion watch rather than a sports computer. Match the model and the case size. A 32 millimetre ladies’ watch is not a large sports watch at a lower price.
Quartz, mechanical, and a smart watch are different products. The title has to say which. We do not service movements and we do not test water resistance. A metre claim is the maker’s.
A strap in the photo may be the strap you get, or a style photo. Read the title for the metal or the colour. Two finishes of one model are two offers.
The shop and the thin list
One shop is one offer. A short list is not a full market. Search the model if you already know it. Visit retailer is an affiliate link. You pay the shop. Commission does not choose the watch.
Postage is usually modest and still not in the feed price. Returns if the size is wrong are the shop’s rule. A worn strap may be harder to send back than a sealed box. Read that.
Leave a row that does not name the series or the model. Leave a demo if you wanted a standard retail unit and did not notice the word. Leave a title you cannot read. The checklist is model, case size, demo or not, then the shop.
Case size and the strap
Millimetres are the comparison on a smart watch and on a small fashion watch. A 32 millimetre case and a 46 millimetre case are not the same wrist. Match the size you want, then the series or the model name. A cheaper size you will not wear is a different watch.
Strap colour and case metal are part of the offer. A silver-gold strap and a black sport band are different products even when a brand word matches. Extra straps are included only when the title says so. We do not resize bracelets.
Demo units and cellular
Demo on an Apple Watch row means you should stop and read the condition. It can be the same series and still not the retail watch you meant. GPS-only and cellular are different models with different ongoing costs at the network, which are not in our feed price.
A Garmin-style rugged watch and a fashion wristwatch are different tools. Water-resistance metres and solar claims are the maker’s. Use them only to tell two listings of the same model apart. We do not soak watches and we do not leave them in the sun.
A thin watches list
The plain watches department is often only a few rows. Smart watches are the longer list. Search the model if you already know it. A short list is not a market. One shop is one offer.
Leave a row with no model and no case size. Leave a demo if you wanted a standard unit. Postage is usually small. Returns on a worn strap are the shop’s rule. Read them. The order is model, size, demo or not, then the price.
Before you click
Read the case size in millimetres and the model. Then read demo, and GPS-only versus cellular, on a smart watch. A 32 millimetre fashion watch is not a sports computer. Strap colour is part of the offer. Extra straps are extra until the title includes them. Water-resistance metres and battery hours are the maker’s figures, not a soak test from this site.
The plain watches list is often only a few rows. Smart watches are the longer list. Search the model you already know. Leave a row with no model. Leave a demo unit if you wanted a standard retail watch and only noticed the price. Returns on a worn strap are the shop’s rule. One shop is one offer.
A cellular watch may need a plan the shop does not sell. That plan is not in the feed price. GPS-only avoids it. Demo stock can be a display unit with a different warranty. Read the condition on the shop page and do not stop at the series name. A fashion watch’s movement, if you care whether it is quartz, has to be written. Case thickness matters under a cuff. If the title gives only the diameter, open the shop for the rest. Strap width, when you might change the strap later, is a shop-page measurement. We do not resize or punch holes.
A stainless case and an aluminium case are different watches when the title says the metal. Glass type is a shop-page detail if you care about scratches. We do not scratch them to compare. A demo unit’s battery health is unknown on this page. Read the shop’s condition note or leave the row. Cellular models can look identical to GPS models in a thumbnail. The title has to carry the word. If it does not, open the shop before you pay.
Read the word demo
A display unit and a standard retail watch can share a series name. The title has to say demo if that is what the row is.
