How to compare a coffee table

How we choose products: rows come from in-stock affiliate feeds that have a name, a price, and a photo when the shop sent one. We do not test the products, and a higher commission does not move a shop up the list.
A coffee table price is the size and the material. A styled photo often includes pieces that are not in the box.
Measure the room first
Write down the width, depth, and height you can spare, including people’s knees and the path around the sofa. A table that fits the rug on paper can block a door. If the title has no millimetres, treat it as incomplete and read the shop page. Two tables with the same name and different photos may be different sizes. Match the numbers.
Height matters as much as the top. A low table and a high table do different jobs next to a sofa. Do not compare them as one product because both are called coffee tables. The department is short. Read each title. A short list is not a full market.
The photo is not the bill
Lifestyle photos add a tray, books, and sometimes a second table. Believe the piece count. Nesting tables are a set. A single table is one piece. A lower price on the single is not a cheaper set.
Material and finish
Oak effect, veneer, solid wood, glass, and a painted board are different tables at different prices for a fair reason. Match the material word. Solid is a claim. If the title does not say solid, do not upgrade it in your head. A glass top needs a thought about children and about the weight. That is your room, not a feed field.
Colour names are loose. Two ‘oak’ rows can be different stains. Open the shop if the prices are far apart and the names are close. We do not inspect the finish.
Flat-pack, delivery, and the day it arrives
A flat-pack table and a built table are different purchases. If the title is silent, assume you should check the shop rather than guess. Stairs, a lift, and a parking limit are your building. Some retailers charge more above the ground floor. Some will not take a table back once it is built. Read that.
The feed price excludes delivery unless the shop’s row says otherwise, and our page often cannot see the delivery line at all. Visit retailer before you treat two prices as equal. We do not carry furniture and we do not assemble it.
One shop or several
Count the shops. One offer is a route to that retailer. Visit retailer is an affiliate link. You pay them. Commission does not pin a table to the top. Order follows the feed price, which still is not the delivered price.
When to leave
Leave a table with no dimensions. Leave a set when you wanted one table and did not notice the piece count. Leave a finish word you needed that is absent. If the right size is not in the feed, search coffee table. If it is still absent, wait or go to a shop you already use. Do not buy a side table because it was the card on the page.
Storage furniture and sofas are different decisions. A coffee table guide will not size a wardrobe. Stay on the table you measured.
The gap in front of the sofa
Measure the floor you can spare with people sitting, not the empty room in a listing photo. Knees, a walkway to the door, and a rug that is smaller than the table all change the useful size. A table that matches a showroom photo can still block your own door.
Height is part of the product. A low table and a high table do different jobs. If you want somewhere to put a laptop, write down the height you can work at. The feed will not know your sofa. Two tables with the same name and different photos may be different sizes. Match the millimetres.
A nesting pair is two tables. A single at a lower price is one table. Side tables in a lifestyle photo are often another row. Believe the piece count in the title. If the title has no piece count and no dimensions, open the shop or leave it.
Finish, glass, and what the photo adds
Oak effect, veneer, solid wood, glass, and a painted board are different tables. Solid is a claim. If the title does not say solid, do not upgrade the material in your head. Two rows that both say oak can be different stains. Open both shops when the prices are far apart and the names are close.
A glass top is a different risk in a room with children, and it is heavier to move. That is your room, not a field in the feed. A tray, books, and a lamp in the photo are props unless the contents list includes them. We do not inspect finishes and we do not publish a scratch score.
Colour names are loose. Match the finish word you need, then the size. A cheaper finish you did not ask for is a different table.
Flat-pack, stairs, and one offer
A flat-pack table and a built table are different purchases. Assembly time is yours. If the title is silent, check the shop rather than guess. Stairs, a lift, and a parking limit are your building. Some retailers charge more above the ground floor. Some will not take a table back once it is built. Read that before the box is open if you are unsure of the size.

Commission does not pin a table to the top of a list. If the right size is missing, search coffee table rather than guessing from a photo. If it is still missing, wait or use a shop you already know. Do not buy a side table and call it close enough.
